SERDANG, 21 October 2025 – The Administration and Finance Unit of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised a well-being session titled “The Value Behind Happy” at the ION2 Seminar Hall recently.

The two-hour session featured Pn. Rafidah Sadarudin, Head of the Department of Social and Community Services, Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), UPM, as the invited speaker. She shared insights and experiences on nurturing emotional well-being and fostering a positive mindset, particularly in balancing personal happiness with workplace demands.

The initiative reflects ION2’s commitment to supporting the UPM Registrar’s Office call for all departments and responsibility centres to conduct activities that promote staff well-being. Designed in an engaging and relaxed setting, the session encouraged participants to reflect on the true meaning of happiness and explore strategies for achieving balance in life and career.

Through interactive discussions and sharing activities, staff members were given the opportunity to communicate openly, express their thoughts, and strengthen mutual support among colleagues. The programme also helped to cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment within ION2.

Overall, “The Value Behind Happy” successfully created an uplifting atmosphere that reminded staff of the importance of emotional wellness, teamwork, and finding value in everyday happiness at work.
