Recent research in analytical chemistry involves synthesis and characteriation of materials and nanomaterials for analytical purposes utilising synthetic and natural resources (e.g. synthetic ligand, photocatalytic material, functional polymer, natural-based sorbent, nanocellulose, nanofibre, nanostructured materials, etc). Analytical application of the prepared materials includes but is not limited to environmental clean-up, sensor application, and other analytical method development. Examples of method developments explored are electrochemical and optical-based analysis, chemical and biosensor development, and water treatment procedures and prototypes.
