SERDANG, 2 May - Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA) received a visit from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. The delegates were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Nizar Hamidon, the Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suraya Abdul Rashid, Head of MPTL, and Dr. Umer Rashid, MPTL Fellow Researcher. Chulalongkorn University delegates were represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chawalit Ngamcharussrivichai and Dr. Wayu Jindapon from Department of Chemical Technology. This is the second meeting for Dr. Umer Rashid who has made a visit to their university last year. After discussion, the delegation then visited to ITMA laboratories and the Centre of Excellence for Catalysis Science and Technology (PutraCAT), Faculty of Science, UPM.
The objectives of the visit were to discuss potential future collaborations such as research collaborations, student exchange and mobility programmes. The visit has created opportunities for UPM researchers to undertake collaborative research with Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. This is the initial phase to forging a close research network with another international university.
