March 9- The Functional Nanotechnology Device Laboratory (FNDL), Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) has collaborated with the Malaysian Sensor Technology Development Association (SENSOR Malaysia) to organize the FNDL ION2 Webinar: How to Make Your Research Business-savvy. This webinar was delivered by a guest speaker, Dr Thomas Ong, CEO of Nanotextile Sdn. Bhd. and facilitated by Ts. Dr Umer Rashid, ION2 Research Fellow.

This webinar was held to share knowledge of the commercialization of research products, including methods of commercializing research results to the industry. A total of 52 participants from various agencies attended the webinar, including SIRIM Bhd., the Malaysian Health Research Institute (IMR) and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency.

Most participants gave positive comments and suggested topics for future webinars. It is hoped that such a program can provide exposure for researchers to develop research products that can be commercialized and become a successful business in the future.
