The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) is a research institute at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), dedicated to advancing nanoscience and nanotechnology through three core research laboratories. ION2 attracts renowned researchers, develops future research leaders, and focuses on niche areas in nanoscale green synthesis and applications while actively sharing its expertise, facilities, and research outputs with global research communities and industries.

In support of UPM’s strategic focus on University-Driven Research Programs (UDRP) to enhance research impact, ION2 spearheads UDRP initiatives in Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology.
