ION2 received a visit from 40 students and 3 teachers from SMS Tuanku Aishah Rohani (Science Girls School), Seremban on 12 October 2022. This visit aimed to give exposure to the nanotechnology research activities at ION2 and the high-tech equipment used in the process produce nanomaterials.

This program is also the starting point of the collaborative relationship between SGS and ION2 in the development of nanotechnology innovation projects for the upcoming national level innovation competition in addition to producing a generation of innovation savvy.

The program started with a welcome speech and ION2 introduction session by YBhg. Prof. Dr. Mohd Nizar Hamidon, Director of ION2. After the photo session, the students were divided into 4 groups and taken on a tour of the laboratories and the analysis laboratory to learn more about the research and the analysis carried out at ION2.

Afterwards, a discussion session was held to give students the opportunity to share ideas with ION2 researchers. At the end of the program, students took part in an ION2 quiz session which aims to see the extent of students’ understanding in this visit program session.

It is hoped that this program will be able to motivate students to come up with creative and innovative ideas that can compete in innovation project competitions at the national level up to the international level.
