ION2 researchers attend the Sakura Science Program at Kochi University

JAPAN, March 2023 - Associate Prof. Dr. Che Azurahanim Che Abdullah, Head of Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory (NSCL) and his graduate students, Emmelie Laura Albert, Ashreen Norman, and Dharshini Perumal, attended the Sakura Science Program at Kochi University, Japan, from 6th to 13th March 2023.

The program included activities such as robotic surgery and invivo study, providing hands-on exposure to cutting-edge medical technology. Participating scholars gained valuable insights into surgical practices and the study of living organisms, contributing to their professional growth in medicine.

Additionally, cultural activities like the Tea Ceremony and Ikebana allowed participants to immerse themselves in Japanese customs and traditions. The Tea Ceremony emphasized the importance of tea-drinking etiquette, while Ikebana taught the art of flower arrangement, highlighting the significance of simplicity and precision in life.

Throughout the program, participants had the opportunity to meet and interact with researchers from around the world, including those from Japan. This exchange of ideas broadened their perspectives and fostered a sense of global unity.

"We are very grateful for the opportunity given by the Sakura Science Program. We returned with newfound knowledge, valuable experiences, and cherished memories. Thank you so much to the organizers," said Dr. Che Azurahanim.

The Sakura Science Program continues to serve as a vital platform for academic and cultural growth, nurturing the minds of future leaders in various fields.
