SERDANG, 25 October - The Nano Materials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL), ION2, organised a gas chromatography (GC) workshop for the umpteenth time at the ION2 Seminar Hall and Characterization Laboratory II.

This one-day workshop was conducted by Ts. Dr. Umer Rashid, ION2 Senior Research Fellow. It was attended by 12 participants from inside and outside UPM. Participants were exposed to the theory of separation and gas chromatography in the morning, while in the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to learn how to use the equipment in the Characterization Laboratory II.

Most participants were satisfied with this gas chromatography workshop. They also suggested that the group of hands-on sessions be made smaller at a time so that everyone has a chance and can understand the analysis method better. It is a good suggestion, but time and equipment constraints make the implementation onerous.

Dr. Umer thanked all the participants for their active participation and for making the program successful.
