Online Sharing Session on Outbound Mobility in Thailand

SERDANG, 18 May 2026 – The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) Postgraduate Student Club successfully organized an Online Sharing Session on Outbound Mobility in Thailand today. The virtual event, held via Google Meet from 10:00 AM, aimed to enlighten undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and interested individuals about global academic mobility experiences and cutting-edge research exposure at the prestigious Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI) in Thailand.

The program featured detailed sharing sessions by an expert panel of students who returned from their outbound mobility. The panelists provided the audience with invaluable insights into navigating international research facilities, the application process for the program, and the specialized technical skills gained while operating advanced synchrotron light applications. These narrative accounts served as both a practical guide and strong motivation for future applicants looking to build global research networks.

Implementation of high-impact global mobility initiatives plays a vital role in institutional student development. Beyond technical and scientific expertise, international exposure heavily impacts students' self-development by broadening their cultural horizons, nurturing personal independence, and cultivating cross-border collaborations that are highly essential in modern scientific research.

The successful execution of this sharing session was made possible through the generous funding and strategic guidance provided by the ION2, Office of International Affairs (iPUTRA) and the Student Affairs Division (BHEP), UPM. Their collaborative institutional support ensures that UPM students continue to receive equitable access to world-class research infrastructure and transformative global learning experiences that elevate their future career readiness.
