SERDANG, 21 May 2026 – The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) successfully organized a workshop titled "Revolutionize Academic Writing with AI". Held at the Seminar Room (MEGA PUTRA), ION2, the full-day event aimed to help participants overcome writer’s block and accelerate scientific publishing output by mastering advanced AI prompting techniques.

The intensive program was divided into two slots to balance theory and practice. Slot 1 focused on advanced prompting strategies, teaching attendees how to generate high-quality academic content while avoiding algorithmic pitfalls. In Slot 2, the workshop transitioned into a hands-on practical session. Utilizing their personal research data, participants engaged in real-time simulations to actively draft and refine critical manuscript components, including the abstract, introduction, methodology, discussion, conclusion and references sections.

Heartfelt appreciation and thanks are extended to the expert speakers, Dr. Ismayadi Ismail and Ts. Dr. Intan Helina Hasan, both are senior Research Officer of ION2. Their valuable insights and mentorship were instrumental in helping attendees seamlessly navigate the AI writing tools. To ensure an impactful learning experience, the workshop was limited to an exclusive group of 15 participants, comprising dedicated ION2 postgraduate students and Research Officers.

By equipping its core staff and students with cutting-edge AI literacy, ION2 continues to foster an efficient, forward-thinking environment. This successful initiative ensures UPM scholars remain at the absolute forefront of modern digital innovation in scientific communication.
