Chulalongkorn University Delegation Strengthens Ties with ION2

SERDANG, October 23, 2023 - ION2 received a distinguished visit from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, led by the esteemed YBhg Prof. Dr. Chawalit Ngamcharussrivichai. The warmth of the welcome extended by YBhg Prof. Dr. Mohamad Nizar Hamidon, the director of ION2, highlighted the significance of this one-day visit.

The primary objective of this visit was to bolster the existing relationship between Prof. Chawalit and the researchers at ION2. This visit laid the foundation for research collaboration and discussions regarding the creation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ION2 and Chulalongkorn University. The discussions encompassed various joint initiatives, including student exchange programs and collaborative events such as webinars, conferences, and workshops.

During his visit, Prof. Chawalit had the opportunity to explore the cutting-edge laboratories at ION2. The tour included visits to several key facilities, including the Nanomaterials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL), Functional Nanotechnology Devices Laboratory (FNDL), Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory (NSCL), and Characterization Laboratories I and II. This firsthand experience provided Prof. Chawalit with valuable insights into ION2's advanced research capabilities and infrastructure.

The courtesy visit was attended by not only the distinguished figures from Chulalongkorn University but also all the heads of ION2 laboratories and research officers, emphasizing the importance of this interaction.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening academic and research collaborations between ION2 and Chulalongkorn University. The forthcoming memorandum of understanding and the proposed joint activities promise to enhance knowledge exchange and further scientific advancement. We will continue to follow this partnership's developments and look forward to the fruitful endeavors that will arise from it.
