SERDANG, December 2023– The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) conducted an Accountability and Performance Management Workshop on Budget, Research, and ION2 KPI on December 12, 2023, at the ION2 Seminar Hall.

The workshop gathered all ION2 staff, including management members, researchers, and associate researchers, focusing on assessing the forthcoming 2024 program while offering guidance to each member of the ION2 team in setting annual work targets.

During the session, emphasis was placed on aligning with the vision of YBhg. Vice Chancellor Dato' Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan regarding UPM's aspirational goal of becoming an internationally renowned university. This vision highlights UPM's mission to contribute significantly to prosperity creation, national development, and universal human well-being by exploring and disseminating knowledge. Moreover, attention was drawn to Strategic Plan Goals 2–5:

GOAL 2: Creating a Research and Innovation Hub That Generates Value Based on a Sustainable Ecosystem

GOAL 3: Preserving the Ecosystem of Industry and Community Networks

GOAL 4: Strengthening Agriculture and Food Security Resilience

GOAL 5: Strengthening Institutional Governance, Financial Sustainability, and Green Sustainability Practices

Workshop participants actively contributed insights and suggestions aimed at enhancing the visibility of ION2 among domestic and international researchers. The collective focus remains on elevating ION2's operational efficiency and research endeavors, aspiring for further advancement compared to previous years.
