SERDANG, 11 July 2024 — The Jawatankuasa Tentukur dan Penyelenggaraan Peralatan ION2 recently conducted an in-house verification training session focused on weighing balances.
This training session was facilitated by Cik Nurnazeera bt. Zulkefli, the Technical Manager for the MS ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation system of the ION2 Mass Metrology Laboratory. The training was designed specifically for science officers and assistant engineers, providing them with essential knowledge and skills for verifying weighing balances in-house.
The training began with an overview of audit findings related to weighing balances, followed by an explanation of basic verification concepts. Participants gained practical tips on the correct usage and maintenance of weighing balances. The second part of the session focused on understanding and analyzing calibration certificates, included practical exercises in preparing interpolation graphs, and featured discussions on potential improvements in the verification process.
The primary objective of this training was to enhance the staff's ability to perform in-house verification of weighing balances, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements. By improving their skills, the session aimed to contribute to more effective and precise management of laboratory equipment. The program provided both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, proving to be a valuable and comprehensive event.
This initiative highlights ION2’s commitment to maintaining high standards in laboratory equipment management and verification, ensuring that staff are well-prepared to tackle challenges related to weighing balance verification and contributing to the institute's overall excellence in research and operations.
