SERDANG, January 2022 – The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) has organized an International Guest Lecture Series V program featuring Prof. Dr. Gurumurthy Hegde, Director of the Center for Advanced Research and Development (CARD), Department of Chemistry, Christ University, Bengaluru, India recently.

The sharing entitled “Tuning the Porosity using waste materials: Cost-Effective Nanotechnology” took place for almost two hours online through the Zoom application and was attended by 60 participants.

This program is organized to provide the latest knowledge related to the research and application of nano-based waste to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) researchers, especially researchers from the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2). In addition, the program also as a platform for research collaboration between ION2-UPM and Christ University, India.

The program was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Che Azurahanim Che Abdullah, the program director. Sharing from Prof. Gurumurthy focuses on innovations that can be generated by using nano-based wastes as the primary base material as well as its benefits to the economy and environmental sustainability.
