6 January, Serdang – The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) has completed a significant workplace upgrade, utilizing the MEGA PUTRA Endowment Fund to provide new ergonomic seating for its staff. This initiative, launched on 6 January 2026, underscores how endowment contributions to built on the generosity of donors directly improve the daily lives of the university community.
A total of RM13,680 from the fund was allocated to purchase 35 high-quality office chairs. These units are designed to improve posture and reduce physical strain, addressing the health needs of staff who spend long hours in research and administration. By investing in these tools, ION2 ensures that its workforce remains healthy, motivated, and productive.
Turning Contributions into Impact. This project serves as a clear link between donor support and institutional growth. By funneling endowment funds into staff welfare, ION2 demonstrates that philanthropy does more than fund research; it sustains the people who make that research possible. The institute views this as a high-impact use of resources, where donor-backed funding is converted into a better, more supportive work environment.
This effort aligns with UPM’s True North goals of creating a sustainable and conducive workplace. Through the transparent and focused use of the MEGA PUTRA Endowment, ION2 continues to build an ecosystem that rewards dedication and fosters excellence in the nanotechnology sector.
