Serdang, 13 April - On 13 and 14 April 2026, the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) organised two ISO-related courses, namely the QMS ISO 9001:2015 Awareness Course and the QMS ISO 9001:2015 Internal Audit Course, held at the ION2 Seminar Hall. Both courses were conducted by an invited speaker, Tuan Haji Mat Razi bin Abdullah, a highly experienced Chief Internal Auditor of UPM.

The QMS ISO 9001:2015 Awareness Course was held on the morning of 13 April 2026. It aimed to provide exposure and understanding to newly appointed ION2 staff regarding the implementation of the ISO quality management system at ION2. In addition, the course also sought to reinforce and enhance awareness among existing staff on the requirements of ISO implementation.

The QMS ISO 9001:2015 Internal Audit Course commenced on the afternoon of 13 April and continued on 14 April 2026. This course was targeted at prospective ION2 internal auditors as well as existing auditors to further strengthen their understanding and competency in the auditing process. It was also open to all ION2 members who were interested in gaining deeper insight into internal audit procedures.

Throughout the course, participants attended a series of lectures followed by practical audit exercises. The programme concluded with group presentations of audit findings, providing participants with the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in a practical setting.

It is hoped that all participants benefited significantly from the course and will be able to apply the knowledge acquired in their daily tasks. The programme is also expected to contribute to a smoother internal audit process and enhance its efficiency and effectiveness, particularly among ION2 auditors.
