SERDANG, May 24 - The Recycling Campaign organized by the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) recently aimed to promote green sustainability practices and received an enthusiastic response from UPM staff, students, and the local Serdang community.
Also held on the same day were the "Gotong-Royong Perdana Program" and the "Preloved to Love Sale" to support this initiative. This one-day campaign was a collaborative effort by the Green Sustainability Committee, the Conducive Public Sector Ecosystem (EKSA) Committee, and the ION2 Welfare and Social Club.
Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Suraya Abdul Rashid, Director of ION2, delivered the opening speech to kick off the day's program, expressing her support for the efforts undertaken by the ION2 staff.
The program continued with an engaging presentation by Ts. Dr. Mohd Hafizuddin Ab Ghani, a Research Officer at ION2, titled "Recycling Awareness," emphasizing the importance of recycling practices.

Following this, Puan Siti Nur Lidiya, as the EKSA Coordinator, gave a briefing on the gotong-royong program, followed by a briefing on the sale of used items by Puan Rosiha as a club representative.
Subsequent activities took place in the lobby and around the ION2 premises, where various recyclable items such as books, boxes, paper, mineral water bottles, and used oil were collected. Participants who supported the campaign by donating recyclable items and purchasing items were awarded digital certificates.
This initiative served as a platform to encourage recycling and reuse practices among ION2 staff and the local community. The responsibility to preserve and conserve the environment is a duty for all of us.
