SERDANG, 28 July 2026 – The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), has undergone the Second-Level Assessment Programme for the Workplace Environment Quality Award (Implementation of the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA) Practices) 2025/2026, recognising the institute’s commitment towards fostering a quality, organised and conducive working environment.

The assessment is one of the components under the UPM Administrative Management Star Rating Award 2025/2026, Component 2: Transformation, and also serves as part of the recognition presented in conjunction with the UPM Quality and Service Innovation Day (HKIP) 2025/2026.

Held at the MEGA PUTRA Seminar Room, the assessment programme comprised two main sessions, namely the EKSA implementation presentation and a physical visit to the EKSA zones at ION2. The presentation was delivered by Mr Muhammad Adib Zahier bin Zainudin, EKSA ION2 Implementation Committee Coordinator, highlighting the implementation, achievements and improvement initiatives undertaken by the institute.

ION2 Director, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Suhaidi Shafie, also expressed the management’s commitment in ensuring that all institute members continue to embrace a systematic and quality-driven work culture in line with the objectives of EKSA.

The physical assessment conducted by the evaluation panel, comprising Ms Wan Rohani Wan Mohamed and Mr Adidi Tamin, provided an opportunity to evaluate the implementation of EKSA practices across the designated zones at ION2. The programme concluded with feedback and recommendations from the panel to further strengthen the continuous improvement of EKSA implementation at ION2.
