The 2023 ION2 Researcher Appreciation Ceremony was held on 19 May 2023 as an effort by ION2 to appreciate the good services of ION2 associate researchers who have worked together in maintaining ION2's achievements over the years. The ceremony also aims to present the Outstanding Researcher Award for the year 2022 to outstanding researchers.

The ceremony started with the recitation of a prayer followed by a welcome speech by the Director of ION2. The ceremony then continued with the presentation of the ION2 Outstanding Researcher Award. Prof. Dr. Nor Azah Yusof, Associate Researcher of the Functional Nanotechnology Device Laboratory (FNDL) has been named the ION2 Outstanding Researcher for 2022, while Dr. Mohd Hafiz Mohd Zaid has been awarded as Outstanding Young/Interim Researcher 2022.

Hopefully with the organization of this program, all ION2 researchers will continue to strive to excel for the success of ION2, especially in the strategy of raising ION2 as a referral centre in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology at home and abroad.
