KOTA BHARU, September, 2022 – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yap Wing Feng, an Associate Researcher of the Functional Nanotechnology Device Laboratory (FNDL), has received the MASS Young Researcher Award 2022 in conjunction with the 31st Regional Conference on Solid State Science and Technology organised by Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Kota Bharu, on 6-9 September 2022.

Dr. Yap received a cash prize of RM1000 in addition to souvenirs and a Certificate of Award. Meanwhile, Dr Mohd Hafiz Mohd Zaid, Associate Researcher of the Nano Material Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory (NSCL), received the best oral presenter award and won two Golds through his participation in the Materials Technology Competition.

At another event in Kuala Lumpur, Professor Dr.  Lim Hong Ngee, Associate Researcher of the Functional Nanotechnology Device Laboratory (FNDL) has been recognised as one of the Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) 2022 by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM).

This recognition is given to Malaysian scientists with at least ten years of accumulated contribution in the science, technology, innovation and economics (STIE) sectors.
