10 July 2026 – The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), continues to strengthen its commitment towards cultivating the Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA) practices through the organisation of Green Ops 2026: EKSA Gotong-Royong Programme No. 1/2026. The initiative was carried out to ensure that the workplace environment at ION2 remains organised, systematic, clean and conducive, in line with the aspiration to enhance the quality of service delivery.

A total of 36 ION2 staff members participated in various improvement activities involving office spaces, laboratories, shared facilities and the EKSA Corner. The activities included standardising tagging systems, organising and labelling assets, preparing guidelines for the use of rooms and equipment, maintaining the EKSA Corner, installing signages and directional signs, as well as reviewing compliance with the UPM EKSA assessment criteria.

The programme commenced with a briefing by Mr. Muhammad Adib Zahier bin Zainudin, Coordinator of the ION2 EKSA Implementation Committee, who emphasised the importance of active participation among all staff in ensuring the continuous implementation of EKSA practices. A group photography session with Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Suhaidi Shafie, Director of ION2 and Patron of the ION2 EKSA Implementation Committee, was also held before participants proceeded with activities in their respective zones.

The programme also received support from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mas Jaffri Masarudin and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Siti Hajar Othman as zone mentors. Through Green Ops 2026, ION2 not only strengthens its readiness for the Second Stage Assessment of the Workplace Environment Quality Award (EKSA Implementation), scheduled for 28 July 2026, but also continues to foster a culture of quality practices and continuous improvement among its staff.
