ION2 Welcomes Delegations from Indonesia and Uzbekistan, Forges Research Collaborations

SERDANG, November- The Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) welcomed foreign delegations, fostering potential research partnerships. On November 15, a delegation from the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University, Indonesia, led by Dr. Husnul Khotimah, Vice Dean for General Affairs, Finance, and Resources, visited ION2.

The meeting with the Indonesian delegation commenced with an introduction to ION2 by Associate Professor Dr. Mas Jaffri Masaruddin, Head of the Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory (NSCL). Discussions centered on potential collaborative research in nanoparticles and a student exchange program. The visit concluded with an extensive tour of ION2's laboratories and equipment.

 

Subsequently, on November 22, ION2 received six lecturers from the Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology, Uzbekistan, with a lecturer from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) serving as an interpreter. The session began with welcoming remarks and an introduction to ION2 by the director, Prof. Dr. Mohd Nizar Hamidon followed by an exchange of information about both institutions. Discussions focused on research collaboration possibilities, followed by a tour of ION2's research facilities.

The visits were significant in laying the groundwork for promising future collaborations in research and academic exchange programs. ION2 remains committed to expanding its global network and exploring further opportunities for collaboration and exchange with institutions worldwide.

Overall, the visits were successful in strengthening ION2's collaborations with institutions in Indonesia, Uzbekistan, and Malaysia. The institute's efforts in fostering international partnerships and collaborations are commendable, and it will be exciting to see the future developments that result from these visits.
