SERDANG, 22^nd February- Nano Materials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL) organized a Nanomaterials Technology seminar. This seminar was held online using the Google Meet platform.

The 2-hour seminar featured two experienced researchers in the field of nanotechnology. The first speaker, a researcher from the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Associate Professor Dr. Toshiki Tsubota delivered his lecture entitled 'Applications of activated carbon derived from bamboo’. The abundance of bamboo in Japan inspires his research. His sharing focused on the optimal process of converting bamboo into activated carbon, a material with commercial value and the properties of the activated carbon.

The second speaker is an NPTL associate researcher who is also the Head of the Nanotechnology Program of NPTL, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Norkhairunnisa Mazlan. She shared about fire retardant materials from nano polymer composites. The title of her sharing was 'Overview of the fire and thermal performance of polymer nanocomposite'.

A total of 52 participants have participated in this online seminar, and they hope there will be more programs like this later.
