Nanomaterials Technology Webinar by NPTL

SERDANG, 29th February- Nano Materials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL) organised a Nanomaterials Technology Webinar. This seminar was held online using the Google Meet platform since 2020. Recognising the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the NPTL seamlessly transitioned its face-to-face seminar to an online format to enable the continuation of academic discourse and knowledge dissemination despite the constraints of physical distancing measures.

The 2-hour seminar featured two experienced researchers in the field of nanotechnology. The first speaker was a researcher from the Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia, Dr. Mohd Nor Faiz Norrahim, who delivered his lecture entitled 'Nanocellulose: The Next Super Versatile Material for The Military’. The insightful discourse by Dr. Norrahim not only explored the applications of nanocellulose in military contexts but also delved into its potential role in enhancing defense strategies against chemical and biological threats, thereby illuminating a critical aspect of national security.

The second speaker is a researcher from James Crook University, Dr. Elsa Antunes, who delivered her lecture entitled 'Nanomaterials for biomedical applications’. She shared current research and development efforts aimed at exploring fabrication techniques for biomedical applications, such as implants and bone tissue engineering, offering a glimpse into the innovative strategies driving advancements in the field of healthcare technology.

A total of 33 participants have participated in this webinar. Both topics got equal interest from the participants.
