Serdang, 15 May 2025 – The Nanomaterials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL) under the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully organised the Nanomaterials Technology Webinar 2025 in collaboration with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). The two-hour session was conducted via Google Meet. A total of 181 participants from Universiti Putra Malaysia, other local and private universities, as well as representatives from government agencies and industry joined the webinar.

The webinar was moderated by Ts. Dr. Umer Rashid and featured two renowned speakers in their respective fields, which were Prof. Dr. Yun Wang from Griffith University, Australia, and Ir. Ts. Mohamed Syazwan Osman from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Penang. The main objective of this webinar was to share knowledge and the latest developments in nanotechnology, particularly in the environmental and agricultural sectors.

The first speaker, Prof. Dr. Yun Wang, shared a topic on Operando Simulation for Materials Design by highlighting the theoretical and simulation approaches behind the design of functional materials and chemical reactions. Whilst the second speaker, Ir. Ts. Mohamed Syazwan, delivered a talk titled ‘Colloidal Nanoparticles in Agricultural Applications’, which explores the potential of colloidal nanoparticles in enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability.

The session proved to be highly engaging, with an active Q&A segment reflecting the participants' interest and involvement. The diverse backgrounds of the attendees showcased the growing relevance of nanomaterials technology across various disciplines and sectors.

The success of this webinar underscores ION2's commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing in the fields of environmental and agricultural nanotechnology.
