NPTL Organises Knowledge Transfer Program at SMK Sri Indah

SERDANG, August 17 - A nanoscience and nanotechnology knowledge transfer program was successfully held on August 16, 2023, at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sri Indah (SMK Sri Indah), Serdang. This NPTL-organised program marked the first of its kind at the school.

The event was attended by a total of 93 pure science students from Form Four and Form Five. It commenced with an introduction to the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology by Ms. Juraina, the coordinator of industry and community networks at ION2. Subsequently, the program proceeded with a talk entitled "Introduction to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology," delivered by the Head of NPTL Laboratory, Associate Professor Dr. Siti Hajar Othman.

"Previously, no faculties or institutes from UPM have conducted such programs in our school. We hope there will be more continuation of such programs in the future," stated Mrs. Noor Subhi Abu Bakar, the STEM Club advisor and chemistry teacher at SMK Sri Indah. The statement was also supported by two other teachers who participated in the program, Mrs. Nik Kasmini Awang (teacher of the chemistry committee) and Ms. Hafizoh Harun (chemistry teacher).

NPTL hopes that this program will aid the school, especially the teachers, in strengthening the knowledge of nanoscience and nanotechnology among pure science stream students. The program concluded with a photo session and the exchange of souvenirs.
