SERDANG, 25 October - The Nanomaterials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL), ION2, recently organized a gas chromatography (GC) workshop at the ION2 Seminar Hall and Characterization Laboratory II. This workshop marked another successful iteration of the event, aimed at enhancing participants' understanding of GC techniques.
Conducted by Ts. Dr. Umer Rashid, a Senior Research Fellow at ION2, the one-day workshop attracted 12 participants from both within and outside Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The morning session was dedicated to the theoretical aspects of separation and gas chromatography, providing attendees with a solid foundation in the principles and applications of GC. In the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning, using the equipment in Characterization Laboratory II to apply the concepts discussed earlier.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing satisfaction with the workshop's content and structure. However, several participants suggested that future workshops might benefit from smaller, more focused hands-on sessions to ensure that each participant has ample opportunity to engage with the equipment and understand the analysis methods more thoroughly.
Dr. Umer Rashid expressed his gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and contributions, which played a crucial role in the workshop's success. The feedback received will be considered for improving future workshops and ensuring that they continue to meet the needs and expectations of attendees.
