July 24, 2017 - Plaque Presentation Ceremony from Shinshu University was held at Putra Gallery, Chancellery Building, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The ceremony was held as symbolic for the placement of Shinshu University Satellite Office at one of the laboratories at the Advanced Technology Institute (ITMA).

This event was attended by Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as a representative of UPM. While also present was the Deputy Director of ITMA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Nizar Hamidon, Prof. Dr. Norhisam Misrom as project leader of a joint project with Shinshu University with head of ITMA’s laboratories.

The representative of Shinshu University is Dr. Kiyoshi Tanaka Deputy President of Shinshu University (International Affair), Hirokazu NAGATA, Michiko NISHIKAWA, Second Secretary of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries & Environment, Japanese Embassy in Malaysia and Mizutani Managing Director of Fujitsu Communication Malaysia.

The main purpose of this collaboration as a platform to upgrade UPM as a recognized university by Japanese universities for student and academic exchange, is a partner in research and mobility projects of UPM students internationally. Active student exchange activities conducted by Shinshu University should be taken into consideration in expanding UPM mechanisms in finding a place for UPM students to hold exchange programs, which ultimately achieve the goal of strengthening student's soft skills.
