Qarbotech Triumphs in EQT Impact Challenge: Empowering Agriculture Innovation

SINGAPORE, December 2023 - Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Suraya celebrates Qarbotech’s remarkable triumph, securing the top spot in the EQT Impact Challenge 2023 Southeast Asia edition.

Qarbotech secured EUR100,000 (equivalent to Ringgit Malaysia 503,270.00) courtesy of the EQT Foundation, alongside 300 hours of consultancy from Ernst & Young, augmenting this with 15 hours of legal services from the esteemed global firm DLA Piper. This strategic alliance aims to fortify Qarbotech's intellectual property strategy and capabilities, further supported by access to EQT's extensive network and specialized expertise to propel its growth.

The pioneering innovation, QarboGrow, a patented photosynthesis enhancer, clinched multiple accolades nationally and internationally this year.

Previously, Qarbotech secured USD 700,000 (equivalent to Ringgit Malaysia 3,273,900.00) in start-up funding and grants, along with triumphs in innovation challenges from various agencies. Prof. Suraya and her Qarbotech team have garnered attention in the December 4 issue of Business Today, showcasing their success.

An accomplishment steeped in pride, originating in a university research lab and now poised for adoption in commercial farms, QarboGrow stands poised to further empower global farmers in their vital role of food security.

Qarbotech's innovative strides, extending from laboratory breakthroughs to practical applications in commercial farming, mark a transformative journey catalyzed by dedication and ingenuity. Their pioneering efforts exemplify the pivotal role of nanotechnology innovation in revolutionizing agricultural practices worldwide.
