Symposium on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology 2017 (SAMN2017)

18 July 2017 – Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA) has organized a Symposium on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (SAMN2017). This symposium is jointly organized by the Institute of Advanced Technology (ITMA) and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS) Malaysia Chapter and has been conducted for two days . Symposium on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, formerly known as Workshop on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (WAMN) is one of ITMA's annual activities which were initiated since 2003.

This program is one of the efforts to promote and strengthen ITMA as the institute of excellence in research focusing on advanced materials and nanotechnology. Through the organization of this workshop ITMA has managed to bring some local and foreign experts to share knowledge and results of their latest research. SAMN 2017 has attracted over 60 participants from academia, industry, and government.

There are 2 parallel sessions associated with the advanced materials and nanotechnology. The program begins formally on Tuesday and consists of 1 plenary talk, 4 keynote talks, 8 invited talks and more than 40 oral papers. These include streams on nanomaterials, nanostructured functional devices, nanoelectronics, sensors and actuators, nano energy, synthesis & characterization of functional, modeling & simulations of nano devices, photonics & optoelectronics materials, bio sensors &  bio electronics and thin films. The presented papers will be peer-reviewed for publication in the International Journal of the Institute of Materials Malaysia (IJIMM), SAMN2017 Special Issue in the Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, and PERTANIKA Journal.

It is hoped that this symposium could identify opportunities for a collaborative research program in advanced materials and nanotechnology among researchers and scientists from various R&D laboratories and organizations. Such teamwork would enable members to profit from each other’s achievements, expertise and experiences.
