SERDANG, 20^th September – A workshop on gas chromatography was held on 20^th September 2022 at ION2, UPM. The workshop has been organized yearly by the Nanomaterials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL), ION2, since 2016. The objectives of this workshop are to educate the participants on the theory of gas chromatography, handling and troubleshooting of the equipment, sample preparation and data analysis.

This workshop was attended by postgraduate students and lecturers from various faculties, including the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, faculty of agriculture, faculty of science, faculty of engineering and others. This workshop was divided into two sessions: the first session was theoretical, and the second was hands-on. The first session was held at ION2 Seminar Hall, while the hands-on session was carried out at the Analysis Laboratory of ION2.

All the participants gave positive feedback on the workshop, and they hoped this workshop could offer an advanced hands-on session, particularly in equipment troubleshooting and data analysis in the future. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Umer Abdul Rashid, a senior Fellow Researcher of ION2.
