Director’s Welcoming Remark

I am honored to extend a warm welcome to you on the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ION2) website.

This platform serves as a hub for sharing information about the academic and research activities conducted, as well as the services offered by our institute.

Our primary focus lies in developing research laboratories in the field of nanotechnology and advanced materials, with a special emphasis on niche areas such as nano-scale green synthesis and applications. The three main laboratories are the Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory (NSCL), the Nanomaterials Processing and Technology Laboratory (NPTL), and the Functional Nanotechnology Devices Laboratory (FNDL).

We also provide opportunities for graduates to enhance their knowledge and research and development (R&D) skills through Higher Degree Studies (Master and Doctor of Philosophy). ION2 offers a diverse range of fields of study in the realm of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials.

Furthermore, we welcome collaborations with industry and the community, facilitating the transfer of knowledge, expertise, or technology for mutual benefit.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the provision of state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure to support researchers in achieving the highest standards of research. Several laboratories house high-end equipment, with two of them accredited with MS ISO/IEC 17025 by the Department of Standards Malaysia.
