SERDANG, 17 July - The Functional Nanotechnology Device Laboratory (FNDL) organized the inaugural workshop series under the NanoINO community program. This initiative is part of the knowledge transfer activities funded by the ION2 Knowledge Transfer Grant Scheme (KTGS), and it is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yap Wing Fen, the head of FNDL.
The first workshop in this series, titled "Introduction to Nanoscience & Nanotechnology in Innovation and Design Projects," was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yap Wing Fen. The workshop was designed for secondary school teachers who are involved in student innovation and design projects. It aimed to introduce these educators to the potential of nanotechnology and explore opportunities for collaboration with ION2 to foster innovation projects in this field. The ultimate goal is to encourage these teachers and their students to participate in both district and national innovation and design competitions.
A total of 10 secondary school teachers attended this online workshop with the aim of broadening their understanding of nanotechnology-based innovation projects. The session provided valuable guidance on the types of support ION2 can offer to support their initiatives and subsequently contribute to their participation in various innovation and design competitions. The workshop successfully laid the groundwork for future collaboration between educators and ION2, with the hope of advancing the application of nanotechnology in the context of education and competitions.
